As Pleased As Punch During Diva's Birthday!

Simple but full of love...that's how I describe the celebration we had. Hindi man kami nagpunta sa isang party venue at nag-plan ng isang tunay na party, we just did a real celebration for Diva, enough to make her smile on her special day.

Diva making her wishes before blowing the candles.

I thought she'll get a slice, but she sliced the whole cake into equal pieces at once!

Some friends were expecting that we'll be going to have a big celebration and keep on asking me about it. But they want it to be a surprise party. I wanted it to happen too, but there's few more days left to plan and the biggest problem is Diva's work/rehearsal schedule as well as the special people on her life who all wanted to come, but couldn't find their respective schedules fit to the occasion. So, the decision was all left to me. But I was really blank...where, how and when? I told myself I won't bother thinking too much anymore, I will just talk to few friends and just go there and bring some foods, For me, unplanned or simple plan oftentimes give better results.

Though I was thinking Diva was unaware of what we are planning, It looks like she got some clues from her family prior to my arrival. Di lang siya sure who will come to visit her.

Diva, with Julie, Georgette, Me and Todjie

Hindi halatang makukulit, lalo na yung nakasilip sa background!

I left my place at 8 am and got caught in the middle of the traffic along Ortigas Avenue. Our meeting place was at Quezon City, and agreed to meet up at 10 am. As expected, other places in Metro Manila were also in heavy traffic and just as I guessed, I was again the first one to arrived among the three of us. But to counterbalance, instead of waiting, I used the time to order some foods I want to bring.. I felt very hungry then, my body was craving but my mind declined to eat kasi I want to enjoy my lunch with Diva and DIVAholics. I stood with my hunger but with the time for us to get into Diva's place was running. We're obviously late, it's already past 12 pm, and a text keep on coming on my phone with the message, "Nasaan na kayo? Gusto ng kumain ni Diva." Maybe stopping Diva to eat her lunch, made her think more that the people in the house were waiting for some visitors to come. Anyway, I don't care whatever is playing on Diva's mind during that time, my concern is to get into her place at once and celebrate her birthday. Kahit pa ma-spoil ang sorpresang gusto ko.

As soon as the foods were all ready, we immediately hopped in a taxi and went straight to Diva's place. I texted Lods, who arrived there earlier, that we are already at the gate. She made an alibi to Diva that she will buy something and need to get out. Maybe, Diva didn't buy her alibi and noticed Lods was just acting! hahaha! Just nearing the door, I overheard Diva said, "Hi ate!" ahahaha...kahit di pa ako nakakapasok. Ano yun? Nasilip niya ako o naamoy lang!? Instinct kaya?! I was already laughing inside, pero pinipigilan ko lang. Anyway, with Ria and Julie, we excitedly greet her a happy birthday. Smiling back at us, I knew then, that our small way made her happy.

At dahil sobrang gutom na ako, I set the table immediately. Funny that the cakes that Ria and I bought were identical. Looks like we agreed beforehand, buying that flavor of cake, Queso-Ube! Pero ang totoo, coincidence lang. Di naman kami nagkamali ng choice, ang sarap ng cake na yun!

Made the wish....blew the candles....then eating tiiiiiiime!

As we are enjoying our lunch, I let Lods brought out her laptop to connect to a friend from U.S. whom I knew very well kung gaano ka-gustong makisaya sa grupo. Well, with the help of the technology nowadays, nothing is impossible. At an instant, kausap na namin siya sa net. With the webcam, she freely laugh at our craziness here in Diva's birthday.

Sandee on the net, making her way to take a glimpse at our craziness!

In a while another set of friends were texting, asking which way to pass through, to get easily reach us. It's nobody else but the trio of Hayzel, Rodnie and Anjie. With these three joining the group, what do you expect? Yeeees, isang nakabibinging katahimikan! But that was only in my dreaaaaaams! ahahaha! There is never a dull moment with these three!

The three brought another cake! The fourth cake, according to Diva. Well, we don't let the day passed without getting the opportunity to bond with each other! We met another new friend there, named Georgette. According to DIVAholics, suki daw si Georgette ng Party Pilipinas every Sunday. With the Visayan accent, its not hard to guess she came from the South. Like the rest of us, Georgette is such a cool friend. We were all glad to meet her.

Blowing another birthday cake! Kitang-kita ang ebidensiya, the tens digit is already 2!

Rodnie, Anjie, Lods, Hayzel and the cutest-DIVA!

Before I decided to go home, I asked Diva if she can open the gift I gave her. Just as I prayed for DIVA to appreciate such kind of gift, the outcome is overwhelming on my part. If she's so happy and thankful, viewing the photos of the important events of her first year in showbizness in one thick scrap book, I was as pleased as punch upon seeing the glow in her eyes! Being a scrapbook enthusiast, I always find happiness if people appreciate my work of art. I'm happier seeing her happy!

Diva trying to untie my gift..

Can't read what's on her mind...

Turning the pages, she smiled and expressed what's on her mind, and grinning from ear to ear, I am one happy camper upon seeing that she likes it so much!

Diva was trying to reply to all her well-wishers on the internet.

As much as I wanted to stay a little longer, I have to detached myself from the group. I hate to stay on the road inside a commuter vehicle trapped in a bumper to bumper situation. So impatient with that scenario especially when you really wanted to get home at your expected time.

I know this simple gathering is far from Diva's picture of a party any celebrant really wish to happen. I'm sure she didn't even expect who will come to celebrate with her. But as far as my knowledge is concern, I knew that Diva never really plan of celebrating her birthday at all. Ours is far from a party with singing and dancing, with bountiful foods and overflowing drinks and of course with dressed up invited guests. Kami, we just came unexpectedly at our simpliest. I myself didn't know who to see there. Doon na lang kami nagkita-kita. One thing for sure that made this simple plan worked,  is our common objective of making Diva happy on her special day!

Happy Birthday Diva! May you have abundance in all areas of your life! Good health in you and your family and as well as more opportunities in your career.

Diva with her loving Lola Landring!

All smiles except for one who is pouting! :)

Wacky shot except for two. One w/ hand mask and the other one, pa-kyut! lang!

Someone bit her tounge! Who?

The purple pillow looks like a PacMan Ghost

 Presenting the Beauty Queens!
Diva as Maita and Rodnie as Dor.......Knob Rivas :D

Kailangan bang talagang mag-pout Rodnie? hahaha!
