Christmas Party with Diva and Steven

Tapos na ang Christmas, yet we can still feel the most celebrated holiday dahil sa super busy roads at hindi pa rin nagbabago ang traffic flow. But, kailan ba naman, nawala ng heavy traffic sa Metro Manila? Wala na akong mai-complain, all we need is to reach the place safely.

Dinatnan namin ang mga DIVAnatics doon, who started singing along with Videoke. I was looking at these young people  at ramdam kong medyo nahihiya pa sila sa akin or sa amin. Since Diva went back to her house to pick up her family, no one would introduce us to them. One of them say hello to us, so lumapit naman ako agad. I recognized her immediately as one my online friends on FB. After some few minutes, I asked them to jot their names and contact number in a piece of paper, so I would know them well and at the same time I could have an attendance of all the visitors. Hayzel and her 2 friends, Angelie and Rodnie were the party emcees  that night. First time ko ma-meet ang tatlong ito pero I was really amused with them and happy that they were equipped with funny antics that made us laugh our heart out. At sa sasakyan pa lang, sobrang funny na nila. I was so happy to meet them!

Game na game lahat!

Diva arrived wearing maong shorts, printed blouse and boots and very trendy with her accessories, wala lang bangles this time! Her presence signals the start of our party. After a short prayer led by Lodz, a fun game was started. Una ang Starstruck Charade, where they just have to guess who’s Starstruck personality is being acted out. Medyo nahirapan ata ang mga contestants kasi, we included the stars from former batches. Then followed by Pinoy Henyo and other Party Fun games.

This doesn't only looks good, it tastes really good!

Everyone became more excited when Diva announced that she will raffle some of her personal stuff and we mixed it with some personalized items. I envy those names were picked for a personal item. Probably, I might ask one item from Diva when I visited her place one of this days. J The fun were paused for a while to let us energized ourselves with the mouth watering food at Fuel Up!

Hindi naman siguro makukumpleto ang gabi namin, kung hindi namin hihingian ng isang song and dance number si Diva. At bonggang-bongga na nagpaunlak ang aming bida. Kanyang-kanya ang dance floor!  I really enjoyed watching her and hope to see her doing it in Party Pilipinas.

Then the fun continues…  And while Diva and Rodnie playing with us in a Trivia game, suddenly her phone rang. I can’t help smiling, when I saw Diva’s reaction upon reading a text message. I am guessing then , that somebody so special to her sent her a nice message. Maya-maya pa, she stood up and left  at pagbalik, beautifuuly refreshed herself as she walked  towards us,  kasabay na niya si Steven. J Kaya naman pala….. I wasn’t expecting too much of Steven to come. But still hoping na sana makahabol siya. Nanggaling pa kasi siya ng Davao where he spent Christmas with his relatives. With his presence, expect nyo na ang mas masayang mga mukha ng lahat, ng makita nila si Steven with Diva!

Had a short chat with Steven while he was eating. And gave him also my simple gift. A personalized alarm clock with STIVA’s picture on its face. Kudos to Steven for making it that night kahit alam naming di pa siya nakakapagpahinga. 

Who said na hindi sila bagay? Nag-uumapaw ang chemistry nila.

The two were so sweet with each other that everybody couldn’t help na kiligin ng sobra that night.

Hindi namin namamalayan ang oras ay tumatakbo dahil siguro lahat ay nagkakasayahan ng todo-todo. Pero sabi nga, some good things never last. Some of us have to go home earlier especially yung mga medyo nahuling iluwal sa akin. Ha! ha! ha! Ang concern ko dito ay ang enjoyment ng lahat and to go home safely of course. And as I saw it, nobody went home without a poceketful of smile. 

As part of this, I’m expressing how happy I am too. Meeting new friends and having fun with them on our first acquaintace is something I will treasure also. Salamat sa cooperation ng lahat ng DIVAholics and DIVAnatics Of course Diva causes these all.  She is  someone we admire as a person, as a friend and as an artist.

And since Yuletide season is a time for good times….let it rolls!  Let us wish Diva, Steven and each one of us a prosperousl, peaceful and funful 2011!

Our Christmas Party Preparation and all the side trips!

Mabilis tumatakbo ang araw. Maiksi lang ang pagpaplano at tila medyo nangangapa pa kung paano magagawa ng tama ang mga bagay na gusto naming mangyari sa party ni DIVA MONTELABA. We want it to be simple but objectively  maging masaya at maayos ang buong event na ito. Ganoon pa man, kahit gaano pa kahirap maipon ang mga kaibigan ni Diva, tuloy pa din ang pinakahihintay na Christmas Party.

Naging abala na ako bago pa man sumapit ang araw na ito. Sinimulan kong bulabugin ang araw ni Diva sa ganap na alas sais ng umaga! I had arrived on her house one hour earlier than Diva's expected time . We're together to shop for gifts! What is Christmas Party without Christmas gifts anyway?  Kahit pa gaano ka-simple yan, mas importante ang act of giving and sharing. Hindi ganoon ka-specific ang mga items na we wanted to buy at dahil diyan hindi rin naging specific ang lugar na aming pupuntahan. But still, we made it possible to shop for a shorter period of time. Sa simula, I am only with the company of Diva and a common friend Lodz. We shop ‘til Diva get tired and hungry. Pancit Canton for them and  hot noodle soup  for me to fill up our stomach sa isang nadaanan na eatery. As simple as how I know Diva, wala naman siyang kiyeme kung sa simpleng eatery kami kumain. In fact she was the one who pulled us there! :) Game na game kaming tatlo sa ganyan. It's not being stingy....it's just one of her trips... Food Trip anywhere!

And speaking of trip, we also had our first Road Trip around Binondo via controversial KULIGLIG. (Kuliglig is the name given to motorized Pedicab.) Since the street then is no longer populated with shoppers compared before Christmas,  but still very busy, we decided to have our first exciting Kuliglig ride instead of walking with our heavy loads back to the car. 

Next stop was Quiapo, to pick up another DIVAholic friend, Ria. After 6 hours of working in a grave yard shift, Ria was still full of energy to join our shopping adventure. This time sa napakaingay na Raon naman kami nagpunta. After ng tawaran at baratan sa electronic item na pinili namin, we decided to eat lunch before parting ways. We went to the nearest mall from Diva’s place, Ali Mall. There, we chilled ourselves in a Pizza resto. Then I found out that it was Diva’s first time to get in that mall, kahit na it’s very near from them. Hindi lang daw nasanay, maybe because of the existence of many and bigger malls in Quezon City. . Ali Mall is the first mall in Metro Manila, one of the former busiest too, named after Muhammad Ali. Built after his historical bout with Joe Fraizer, The Thrilla In Manila which happened in Araneta Coliseum in 1975. At isa sa tambayan ko during my college years since I was a product of one of Quezon City schools.

The following day became busier for me. I wanted to finish all the souvenir items I customized, but unluckily hassles came along. My time was well-managed but the people who has something to do with all the stuff I am preparing has the problem that afftected so much my own time at ganoon na din ang  ibang trabaho na dapat kong ma-accomplish that day. Nevertheless, I had finished it just on time. After eating lunch with my kids, heto na ang walang tigil na pag-alert ng cellphone ko. I hate texting,  but I don’t have any choice than to reply. Hinahanap na ako ng mga DIVAholics at ni Diva. So heto ako, feeling dizzy for going back and forth, don’t know kung ano ang dapat unahin. In other words, natataranta na ako. J No matter how I wanted to rush, it’s useless. I am at a distance of close to 44km away from the heart of Metro Manila, and I really cannot estimate my travel time due to whole day traffic.  While on my way, my phone was still so busy posting same text messages of “Where are you now?” How I wish I could fly, for sure, walang traffic sa ulap. How I wish could make it earlier, pero alam kong it's really difficult. I just hope I didn’t disappoint the people who’s expecting too much from me, especially Diva. I arrived at GMA to pick up  Mitch, Hayzeline, Rodnie and Angelie who’s waiting for me near the GMA entrance gate. Not wasting too much time, we rush to FUEL UP KTV Bar at Commmonwealth Ave. to start the PARTY!!!

Diva at Skechers Christmas Party!

One afternoon, my friend, Ria and I were discussing kung sino ang sasama kay Diva in settling our Christmas Party venue, since she sought for our assistance. And though both of us are willing to come with her, we still weigh kung alin ba ang mas magiging madali para sa aming tatlo. Both of us are far from Quezon City, my friend is from Paranaque at ako naman ay  from Rizal. So, obviously, siya na. On the next day, I was waiting for a call or even a text from Diva. Nakikiramdam lang kung matutuloy ang lakad ng dalawa. Here comes 4 pm in the afternoon, my friend texted that they will be going to meet at SM North Edsa. "Ay salamat naman, matutuloy din!", sabi ko sa sarili ko. Medyo matagal na plano na kaya I was really hoping that it will be pushed through na talaga.

While on their way, my friend called again, asking the exact location and easiest way to get to the venue.My friend is as adventurous as I am, at yung tipong kakayaning puntahan lahat ng lugar na gusto niyang puntahan basta may pera lang! Saka walang mahirap sa kanya basta gusto niya yung company ng tao sa paligid  niya at nag-eenjoy siya! Kaya secured ang feeling ko na makakarating sila doon ng madali at hassle-free kahit di ako kasama sa pamamagitan lang ng simpleng instruction ko! Maya-maya pa ay she informed me,  na nandoon na sila. Finally, they settled everything about the place. Ang hinihintay na lang namin ay ang Dec 28 for our post-Christmas Partyyyyy!

All the while akala ko, yung friend ko lang na si Ria ang kasama ni Diva. Kasama din pala ang isa ko pang kadikit-balikat, kabagang at kaututang-dila  na si Lods! :)  At hindi nag-end sa Party venue seeking ang adventure ng tatlo, they went straight to Tektite building in Ortigas Center in Pasig City to attend the Skechers Christmas Party! Since Skechers Phils. is Diva's shoes sponsor, di nila ito pinalampas. Ang highlight ng attendance ng tatlo ay ng mahilingan si Diva to render a song. Siyempre, kahit walang practice at kahit na walang CD (Take note: walang naka-ready na minus one CD for her at wala din silang dala) nagpaunlak pa din siya sa mga tao dun. Ang ginamit: niya yung naka-download na songs sa phone niya. :) Knowing Diva, gagawin niya ang makakaya niya to please everyone. And knowing her more, kaya niyang magpasaya ng audience sa sarili niyang paraan. This time she sang  Rude Boy by Rihanna. Watch her in this video!
