As part of the Cebu Business Month, P.E.O.P.L.E Success Stories event was held yesterday, June 26, 2010, 4pm at the SM City Cebu Cinema 1. Lots of schools like USJR, Sisters of Mary Girls High and such, were invited to hear the stories of role models and achievers on their winning moments. Selected students from USJR, Benedicto College, Sisters of Mary performed some presentations and of course, DIVA MONTELABA was also there to perform and entertain the audience.
She joined the students in dancing a Cebuano song with lyrics like “Bai, pastilan bai, ayaw paglangay-langay”.
After that dance introduction, Diva had her moment to thank all the people for supporting her in her journey. She shared how happy she really is to be back in Cebu though she didn’t have the time to went home. She also stated that the words “Thank You” will never be enough to tell all Cebuanos especially her co-Josenians how grateful she is to their support. She believes that she couldn’t make it without the support of these people. Diva never failed to admire the Cebuanos on how talented they really are. With all confidence and pride, Diva said, “Proud jud kaayo ko to be a Cebuano” (I’m so proud to be a Cebuano).
Her second and also the last song was Battlefield. This time, she went down to the audience and gave some GMA souvenirs. The energy was so high with audience screaming. The event continued while Diva had her exit. We also had a quick run to the backstage to see Diva. In the backstage, we just had a quick flash of chats while she’s beside me slightly hugging me (how sweet! Haha) and there she told us that she will have her flight back an hour or two by then for the technical rehearsal for Party Pilipinas, I guess.
Though in a hurry still we got the chance to have atleast 2 shots of picture then we headed out. Of course, Diva took time to eat in Maxs together with the GMA staffs. From there, we went home already. I can really say that Diva enjoyed that day. It was a one quick sweet escape! Just 9 hours? Who cares!
