It was Monday, May 28, 2012, and even though classes didn't really started yet, looks like most students were already busy. Probably on matters of enrollment or buying new school supplies and uniforms. I said so, because most of the group members who listed themselves to join the Meet and Greet with STIVA suddenly had second thoughts upon learning that we change the scheduled date. Our changed of plan was so sudden, but some STIVAdiks find their ways to get through the event. It was Steven's work commitment that made us moved the date to Monday, May 28 instead of Sunday, May 27 just to fit the schedules of the pair.
The date was a moment for some close STIVA Friends who are present. It happened as it was planned. We had a pizza party,. As they socialized with us, the mood was so happy because most of the time everyone are sharing jokes, and throwing non stop "tuksuhan". We took photos with them and created fan signs for avid on line friends. It was indeed fun being with Steven and Diva.
Looking back, STIVA started as a love team on Stastruck V. It was some fans that tagged them with such name. In fact other called them Stiva Montesilva from Steven Silva and Diva Montelaba's names. Sounded like an Italian name! :)) As far as I remember, they don't really had a chance to be paired during the challenges, only once in a farewell song number of one elimination Sundays. But a lot of fans easily noticed their good chemistry despite the rare chances being paired on screen.
Their friendship bloomed as the contest went on. Post interviews revealed that. Maybe because both of them came from South and both proud Cebuano and Davaoeno respectively, they can easily understand each other. Both admitted they found a good friendship. Back on the competition, they are the ones who shared different stories together and seek advises whenever problems come. Inspite being born and raised in the US, Steven can speak and understand Bisaya dialect. In fact, he is more fluent in speaking Bisaya than Tagalog then. And despite not all fans are pleased on the love team for other haters shouted, they aren't "bagay". But who really knows what "bagay" is? Diva's dusky look and exotic beauty captured Steven's attention. He admitted he admired the morena beauty of Diva. And I guess somehow it complements Steven's fair and Chinito look! Yes, even their personalities complemented each other. And as far as we are concerned, they really look good and cute together! The differences gave them a lot of things to share to one another. As long as they're happy and understand each other, nothing or nobody could stop them from being closed. It is what matters!
The two got their first chance to work together in GMA's Love Bug presents Exchange of Hearts. With them were fellow Starstruck alumni Enzo Pineda and Sarah Lahbati. In the story, Steven as Tim and Diva as Barbie, started as a couple but ended up with Emil and Rachel, played by Enzo and Sarah respectively. Now, they did a special participation on Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona's upcoming movie, "Just One Summer" which will be aired on August. We can also see them as dancing and singing partners in Party Pilipinas production numbers every Sunday afternoon on GMA 7. Even if both have their own projects and TV guestings, the fans are hopeful that the two would be given more project as a loveteam. We believe in the team, and more we believe in their rapport!
